Payroll Controller
The Payroll Service area is responsible for paying salaries to all employees of the Västra Götaland Region.
We are over 115 employees within five areas working with everything related to the payroll management process, pension administration, and system management of HR applications. We are located in three places within VGR: Vänersborg, Mölndal, and Skövde, and we are now looking for a Payroll Controller!
Job Description
We offer a temporary position for approximately 1 year. In the role of Payroll Controller, you will work closely with the area manager and the management team for the area.
Your daily tasks include:
- being responsible for deviation reporting within the area and driving continuous improvements
- producing statistics, compiling data and documentation for the area's managers
- creating reports for our customers as needed to facilitate their work
- following up on cases in our case management system and supporting the area in quality work and case management
- supporting employees in Payroll Service with routines and compliance with working methods in case management
- being a support in change work and projects ongoing in the area.
You will be part of the management team and are expected to take responsibility for your assignments and contribute to the whole. The role also includes responsibility for driving the overarching quality work based on reports, analysis, and statistics. You will report to the area manager and have close dialogue with our customers. In your role, you are responsible for maintaining good contacts with all partners both within and outside VGR.
The location for this position is either Gothenburg, Mölndal, Vänersborg, or Skövde.
Qualifications
To thrive in the role of Payroll Controller, you should have analytical skills, be easy to communicate with, and convey your message effectively. You create good relationships with both our customers and other people you meet in your work. You can drive your work independently and map out and set strategies in your work. You should have a holistic view as we work for the entire VGR. You follow up on your work and ensure that goals are achieved. Openness and transparency in your work are prerequisites.
We prefer that you have education in payroll or similar education that is considered relevant. You have knowledge of the payroll process and all administration in that flow, as well as knowledge of laws and agreements that govern payroll work. Furthermore, you have experience in process-oriented work and analysis of workflows. You have experience in driving and implementing projects or working methods. We also appreciate experience in developing existing and new customer relationships to identify and meet the needs for our services. Knowledge of our payroll system Heroma and/or other payroll systems, and our case management system Service Now (Plexus) is an advantage.
To be successful as a Payroll Controller with us, you need to work both strategically and operationally. You inspire confidence and find it easy to create and maintain long-term relationships. You are curious, development-oriented, and want to grow in the assignment.
You have a high communicative ability and can engage others in change work. At the same time, you have the ability to adapt when our customers' needs change. You are willing to share your experiences and support colleagues in their assignments.
Recruitment Process
Interviews are planned for week 10, Tuesday 3/3 and 5/3 in Gothenburg.
